It’s been a long, slow, and hot summer, but we’re making good progress on the interiors of the Library and History books that we’re determined to get out to subscribers before the end of the year. The Italians and the Spaniards are shut down for the month, as always, but we’re gearing up to be ready to get the books bound and shipped as soon as we can get the various leathers from them.
One of the books we’ve finished all of the design and artwork for is DRACULA by Bram Stoker.

We considered going with silver moire endpapers, but in the end decided to go with the theme of the book, with images of London and Romania at the appropriate time inset with descriptive quotes from the text. The front endpapers show London of the period.
While the rear endpapers show the historic castle in Romania which Dracula was supposed to have inhabited.
The book also features 20 original illustrations from Midnight’s War illustrator Ademir Leal as part of our ongoing process to improve the overall book collecting experience for Library subscribers and set apart our books from all others.
In other production news, the interior elements of A SEA OF SKULLS have been completed and the artist is working on completing the two required cover stampings. Having finished both DRACULA and STUDIES IN THE NAPOLEONIC WARS, the production editors are now wrapping up SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON.
I'm seriously debating opening the shrinkwrap to admire the interiors when I get it.
Looks beautiful, congrats. The juxtaposition of the modern cover and the classical front/end papers works beautifully, good decision.
